WhatsApp is a communications program (app) where people can use the internet to connect to each other anywhere in the World using thier mobile phones (or other computing devices) via the internet generally making free calls to each other.
WhatsApp, owned by Facebook for some time now will possibly not work on older Android and iPhone devices because the app will no longer be actively developed by WhatsApp.
